features a red shield with a fine black outer border with
small horizontal black and white bars in the top left hand
corner. The top edge of the shield has a black bar with white
script, "Georgien". The shield is still on its original
field-grey rayon factory roll. |

This second pattern, (circa
December 1936-May 1945), artillery gunner’s proficiency badge
features a roughly, 2 5/8" tall, 2" wide, vertically oval,
light blue/green badge cloth base with a machine embroidered,
opened top, golden yellow oak-leave wreath encompassing a
golden yellow, central, vertical artillery shell with five
"flames" emanating from the top edge of the shell.

"Blitz" lightening bolt, in red thread, on a 2 1/8" tall khaki
wool oval base. Some nap wear is evident, otherwise no damage.

A machine woven caduceus (serpent
intertwined on a staff), in golden yellow thread, on a roughly
2" diameter blue/green badge cloth base. The grey backing
cloth to the reverse is fully retained. Unissued, undamaged.

MEDICAL PERSONNEL'S SLEEVE BADGE |

Introduced in 1934, and awarded to
Army NCOs and privates who qualified as a helmsman for
motorboats on inland waterways. A 2 1/2" x 1 1/4" field grey
wool oval with a hand embroidered helms-wheel superimposed on
an anchor, all in silver/aluminum wire. To the reverse is a
black linen backing. The base is irregularly cut, but was
probably originally done so. Very light age soiling, but no
other damage. Scarce. |

The insignia consists of a
roughly, 2 1/4" diameter blue/green badge cloth base with a
machine embroidered cog wheel, with four internal spokes and a
round hub and twelve, evenly spaced outer cogs, all in pink
cotton threads. The outside edge of the base is trimmed in
twisted, golden yellow, celleon braid. The reverse of the
insignia still has it’s black fabric backing intact. The
blue/green badge cloth base is bluer the normal. |

The insignia consists of a
roughly, 2 1/4" diameter blue/green badge cloth base with hand
embroidered Gothic "Ts" indicating, Truppensattlermeister,
(Troop Saddler), in heavy, golden yellow, cotton threads. The
reverse of the insignia still has it’s grey fabric backing
intact. The insignia is in overall good condition with light
age toning, some minor fraying to the outer edges and areas of
moderate nap wear to the blue/green badge cloth base. |
